Ok as a disclaimer I do know that these are already being made, however I've had these ideas since back in 2020 and feel like they're a decent thing to post here with minimal touching up (unlike most of my 2020 ideas).

Weapons & Equip - Pre-Hardmode Evil Biome Summoner Items (2)

The basic concept is 4 Summoner weapons made similar to the Rotted Fork/Ball O' Hurt and The Meatball/PretendThere'saCorruptionSpearHere, with a Whip and Staff being gotten from Shadow Orbs/Crimson Hearts and a Whip and Staff being crafted from a few Evil Bars and a few Boss Drops (maybe 9 Bars and 3 Drops?). The names I settled with were (left-right, top-bottom) Malevolence, Vein Staff, Bloodclot Lash and Decay Staff, with the minions being a Blood Cell and Small Eater

(note: the Small Eater is heavily based on the Devourer, and the Flesh Whip is almost entirely a Spinal Tap recolor because I couldn't get it to look remotely good)

In terms of actual damage amounts, the Malevolence deals 22 base damage and 6 tag damage, and the Flesh Whip deals 24 damage and 7 tag damage, while the Vein and Decadence Staves have a similar damage ratio to the Stardust Cell and Dragon Staves (like 15-10? Not sure), and behave similarly to those Staves.

And that's it! I'm not sure if these are too strong, they probably are tbh, but I do really want Summoner to have a reason to go to the Evil Biome and fight its boss beyond getting a pickaxe to mine Hellstone and I think this accomplishes that!

There's already hardmode whips being made but the summons are neat

Yeah ik ik these ideas are just really old so I thought it'd be nice to put them here (especially since beforehand they were only on really old reddit posts : P)
Also I don't think the Soulscourge and Vasculash are Hardmode??? The items and enemies present in the video showcasing them are all from Pre-Hardmode lol

would the worm one be like abigal and stardust dragon where it becomes bigger the more summons you have?

Yup! These are pretty heavily paralleling the Stardust Staves, so the Decay Staff would be similar if not identical to the Stardust Dragon Staff in everything but raw stats :]

One thing I’m confused by is you seem to say these can be obtained from both smashing shadow orbs/crimson hearts and from crafting? Why is that?

Hmm... I don't know if a minion that can fly, move through walls, and pierce infinite enemies is a great idea for pre-Hardmode. But other than that, I like the ideas.

They aren't obtainable both from Hearts/Orbs and crafting, the first two are gotten from Orbs/Hearts and the last two are crafted. Basically it's like this:

Weapons & Equip - Pre-Hardmode Evil Biome Summoner Items (9)

The ones in the top part are gotten from hearts/orbs and the ones from the bottom part are crafted (though maybe it should be the opposite since the Decay Staff has the Vilethorn's color palette while the Vein Staff and Malevolence look more like their Bars)

Hmm, yeah, that's very reasonable, even with low damage the AI is just That Good, perhaps not identical then, maybe it shouldn't target enemies through blocks, or should have worse i-frames (since Re-Logic seems to like giving early game Summons iframe issues) or should be way slower, I'm not sure, but yeah the AI should def be tones down lol

Prior to entering Hardmode, it is recommended to contain the existing areas of the Evil Biome. Another critical step is placing non-corruptible blocks (such as wood, hay, dungeon bricks, etc.)
