How to use one search? ›

Enter Keywords

To find items on a subject, use multiple keywords for more focused results. Try dividing your topic into concepts like theme, population, place, substance, life form, etc. Avoid using extra words, like of or the. If you know what you're looking for, you can search for a title and/or an author's name.

ECU's Library Search provides instant access to books/ebooks, journal articles, newspaper articles, DVDs and more, through one simple search. Search using keywords, terms and connectors to locate information and then use the menu on the left to refine your search and limit to the items you need.

OneSearch is a "discovery tool" which searches multiple databases at the same time to help you find books, articles, music, and more. A default search in OneSearch searches content in Worldcat, Academic Search Complete, and ProQuest Research Library.

Yes. ECU graduates and past staff can borrow books after registering for Alumni Advantage membership. Students and staff from other universities, including: WA universities, interstate universities and international universities, may be eligible to become reciprocal borrowers.

To borrow an item, take your selection and your Alumni Advantage card to any Self Check machine located inside each of the ECU campus libraries. When you are finished with your loan, you may return it to any of the ECU campus libraries.

OneSearch is a search platform that allows researchers to search most of the library's resources through a single search box. This tool allows you to search multiple resources at the same time, and it is a great way to start your research.

OneSearch searches the library's physical resources, plus most (but not all) of the library's subscription databases, along with a selection of open-source eBooks and articles from trusted web sources.

As you scroll down, you'll see additional limits in the Filters Panel, including content type, publication date, library location, discipline, subject terms, and publication date. You can click the box by a filter to say that you want to only find entries with that characteristic.

Using OneSearch to Find a Print Book:

Once you enter the keywords, select Search. You will now get a results page. The results currently contain print books, e-books, scholarly articles, newspaper articles, and popular magazine articles. To narrow down to just print books, there are two options on the left-hand side.
