The game plan tonight should be obvious — no press. The press and State’s overplaying pressure defense gets the Pack out of position leading to open threes and getting beaten on the boards.

UVA has two guys that can shoot. In their losses down the stretch (4 by an average margin of 20 points) they’ve shot under 30% from three and gotten out rebounded by an average of 8 rebounds per game.

Play them straight up. Lock down on the two shooters and pound the glass.

Go with that game plan and then the only question will be that of fatigue. This game is there for the taking if the legs hold up and the game plan is correct.

    Go Pack!

Virginia is a team we should beat, but I'm afraid we'll have heavy legs in the 2nd half.

Get out to an early lead like we have the past 2 games and put the pressure on uva.

Could be heavy legs. But UVA played later than State in a hard fought game plus and overtime session. State can do this.

Sure, but 4 games in 4 days is going to be tough. We'll need a little more from our bench tonight. And more zone defense.

I would think playing Virginia presents the best possible scenario for a Pack team playing its fourth game in four days. Virginia can be offensively-challenged at times.

Yep. Do not pick up the D before UVA crosses mid court under any circ*mstances. And try to avoid hero ball as much as possible. It's crazy how passing and assists actually help an offense. 30 combined assists against Cuse and Duke is pretty good for our crew.

Agree on this. We will not be in a track meet tonight. Likely to be a grinder.

In many ways, a slow down grinder game is tougher on the legs that a more open up and down the court game.

and make as many of our fts as possible. I can see us getting a lot of fts in the 2nd half if we have the lead and keep going inside

Maybe mentally. Not sure about physically. Either way, it’s still a winnable game.

Dominated them in the first one. Should have probably won the second game up there. I think its definitely a winnable game.
