Critics Consensus

Fast-paced and packed with dozens of pop culture references, Hercules might not measure up with the true classics of the Disney pantheon, but it's still plenty of fun.

Adults will enjoy it as well, thanks to its animated artistry and sly wit. I give this a 10/10 Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review Audience Member As a huge fan of Greek and Roman myths, I was excited to give this classic a watch. Unfortunately, it consistently fumbles with the source material and runs amok with the stories I love. Along with some meaningless dialogue, bland songs, and a rushed narrative, you get a movie that is not at all a good representation of Disney at its finest. It does have one redeeming factor, though: Hades. An amazing performance by James Woods allows this movie to at least be memorable, even if it's not worth a watch.
