Be their no.1️⃣ fan!Examples of poor practice of such as 'pushy parenting' can have a negative impact on your child and stop them participating in the game we love.Pushy parenting is when parents/carers have unrealistic expectations of their child in relation to the child’s age/stage of development and then allow these expectations to determine their parenting style. This often goes hand-in-hand with verbal abuse.Watch and learn from this NSPCC video highlighting the impact of positive and negative parental involvement and side-line behaviour. https://lnkd.in/eRtTAins#SafeinSport #RespectInGolf #TogetherInGolf

The main reason that penalties, or "consequences," as we may politely put it, are useless for teaching acceptable behaviour is that they are frequently not rationally or clearly tied to a specific behaviour.✨Making a mess entails clearing up afterwards.✅If you skate without a helmet, you have to do a safety check every time you take off your skates for ten days.If you leave your bat during cricket practise, you'll have to use a friend's bat till they return.😁 These are coherent answers that unmistakably relate to the behaviour. They are not in any anyway retaliatory or spiteful. Their primary goal is to educate our child about acceptable behaviour and to assist them comprehend what constitutes right and wrong.✅When this link is missing though, it takes away the opportunity for the child learn from their poor decisions or uncontrolled reactions. 😁That's why punishments are not effective in changing behavior or in inculcating the right values in the long run.Do you relate to that? 💭What are your reasons for ditching the punishment based approach to discipline?🤔#parenting #parentingcoach #parentingtips #parentingadvice #childdevelopment #Understandingkids #parenthood

Very interesting article on how an initial misdiagnosis did a lot of damage, and how the right diagnosis (autism) created the opportunity for her to succeed in sports. Also, note the clearly described actions that were taken to support her. This is how autism should be seen and how people with autism should be handled in order to thrive. #autism

As Jiminy Cricket taught Pinocchio, just whistle when you are in doubt, let’s teach our young children that “when you are in trouble and don’t know right from wrong give a little whistle and let your conscience be your guide. When you make a mistake or feel like breaking a rule or work hard and don’t get the marks, give a little whistle and let your conscience be your guide.”Read the full blog: https://lnkd.in/dhu_SpH4#earlychildhood #earlychildhoodteacher #earlychildhoodlearning #parentingtips #parentslife #parentingsupport #earlychildhoodeducator #blog #educationblog
